Executive Director: Rebecca Guillory Gilmer
Born and reared in New Orleans, Louisiana, Rebecca earned a degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980. In May 2019 she graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with honors for the highest GPA in her class.
As Founding Vice President of The Impact Movement Inc. and in her 39 years of vocational ministry, Rebecca has addressed groups as large as 15,000 in this country and spoken on the continents of Asia, Africa, and Europe. Rebecca has served on the Boards of The Winter Park Health Foundation, The Synergy Women’s Network and The Beautiful Project. Rebecca currently serves as the newly installed Executive Director of Bethany Community Ministries in Homewood.
Executive Assistant: Donna Smallwood
Bethany Community Ministries was founded in 1999 to offer practical support to Homewood-Brushton’s children, youth and families. Having retired from the Department of Public Welfare, Donna felt called to continue her life of service by helping to bring the mission and vision into fruition. Donna served as Program Director from the founding of the organization until 2019 when Rebecca G. Gilmer became the first official Executive Director. Donna is now serving as the Executive Assistant to BCM.
Bookkeeper: Abigail Lambert
Abigail Lambert is a data enthusiast with a background in finance and accounting. After graduating from WCCC with a degree in finance, she made a career shift from retail to accounting. For the past 5 years, she has been gaining knowledge and experience in accounting and finance, as well as developing her entrepreneurial skills. Most recently, she became licensed as a REALTOR® in Pennsylvania with Coldwell Banker Real Estate Services and is pursuing the requirements to become a licensed real estate broker. Abigail loves the city of Pittsburgh, and can’t imagine living, working, or exploring in any other city.
Food Pantry Manager: Tyrone Jones
Tyrone Jones started in the professional field in the restaurant business at 14 years old achieving kitchen manager by the age of 21, at 28 he was put in charge of the kitchen of one of Pittsburgh popular restaurants. When Tyrone came to Bethany Baptist Church he had no idea what the Lord had in store for him. He volunteered for the Food Pantry not knowing the Lord meant for him to eventually become the manager.
SYP Director: Amanda Taylor
Amanda Taylor serves as the Summer Youth Program (SYP) Director for BCM. She is a PA certified elementary education teacher. Amanda has worked in both public and charter schools and has gained much experience in catering to students’ individual learning styles. She is a member of Bethany Baptist Church and has served as the Director of Children’s Ministry, Kids Under Construction for 7 years. Currently, Amanda homeschools her two children.

Master’s Kitchen Head Cook:
Tatiana is a multi-talented blessing to BCM. She is passionate about cooking/baking, accessorizing parties, creating art, and singing. Therefore it goes without saying that children naturally gravitate to her because she is fun, wise and can speak their language.
Master’s Kitchen Program Director:
Maria has been a member of Bethany Baptist Church for 28 years. She has also worked in nonprofit for over 15 years. Serving her community and providing service to the less fortunate is Gods calling & also her passion.
Soul Fit Workouts & Shawl Project
Program Manager: Myrna Patterson
Myrna Patterson recently retired from a 34-year career in auto claims. She started teaching aerobics classes in the late 80’s, and has since become certified in Personal Training, Yoga, and Silver Sneakers. She noted a lack of affordable exercise classes in under-served communities and as a result, founded YogaNuvo, affordable fusion yoga, and Soul Fit Workouts, a faith-based, no-charge, low impact class. Her college major in metal-smithing and minor in fiber informed her founding of the Shawl Project, a non-profit fiber arts ministry in Pittsburgh PA, which donated 4,000 masks during the Covid-19 pandemic.
BCM Senior Care Coordination Manager: Elain B. Jenkins, RN, PN, CCN
Elaine B. Jenkins RN, PN, CCN is a Licensed Professional Registered Nurse, Commissioned Parish Nurse and Certified Community Nurse. Elaine is a patient advocate and well qualified life coach.
She has always pursued the leadership role in her profession and secular careers. She possesses many awards and recognition for her untiring work in the community. Her leadership skills have been paramount!
